Family Owned and Operated This family run airline was founded by CEO and Director Daryl Smith over 30 years ago. Daryl's roots are in the logging business, but he gained his reputation through 42 years of aviation experience as a pilot and owner of several regional carriers. The South Terminal also features amenities such as a restaurant, car rental services, gift shop, and taxi service. The South Terminal is very efficient, short check-in lineups, it features numerous benefits: reduced congestion, designed to be a "smart terminal" for busy travelers, short walks to gates and parking. Vancouver-Based Pacific Coastal's headquarters are located at the Vancouver International Airport South Terminal. For over forty years we have been serving the coastal and interior regions of British Columbia. There are a variety of wheel aircraft based at Vancouver South Terminal airport, the Shorts S360 and the Beechcraft 1900C, predominantly the Saab 340A, that can transport up to 33 passengers. The DeHavilland Beaver (float) and the Grumman Goose (amphibious) are stationed at Port Hardy airport. Seven of these aircraft are float planes, six that can accommodate up to 9 passengers. Pacific Coastal operates a total of 13 bases and has a fleet of 24 aircraft. Solid Reputation Pacific Coastal Airlines is a well-established name on the Canadian West Coast employing over 275 people including pilots, freight, dispatchers, engineers, flight attendants, customer service/reservation agents and an administration team. With various degrees from the University of British Columbia and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University the Smith family oversees all operations in the Northern and Southern BC Regions alongside a staff who have previous experience with Air Canada, Canadian Airlines, Trans Provincial Airlines, AirBC, and more. Transfers to and from the Main Terminal are provided by Pacific Coastal's own complementary walk-on shuttle service . Shuttle service is available on a routine schedule.
